1. Purpose

Keep raw material and mix moisture within the right range so brick strength and finish stay consistent.

2. Who Is Responsible

Factory Supervisor — judges moisture and adjusts water.
Mixing labour — follows the water adjustment.

3. When To Use This SOP

Daily for stored material, and before/while preparing every mix.

5. Step-by-Step Visual SOP

Do the hand-squeeze test on red soil and m-sand dust.
If material is already damp, reduce the water added in mixing.
If material is very dry/dusty, add water gradually.
Never let stored material sit in standing water or rain.
Keep wet and dry material separated (see MATERIAL_ZONE_V1).
Re-check mix consistency before feeding the machine (see MIB8_MIXING_V1 / MIB6_MIXING_V1).
Record any abnormal moisture condition.

✘ Too wet: water drips, sticky, leaves muddy hand

9. Escalation Rule

Inform Ram/Srinivasan if material is too wet to use, repeatedly inconsistent, or affected by rain/flooding.

10. Common Mistakes

Using the same water amount every batch regardless of material.
Mixing damp soil into a normal batch.
Leaving material exposed to rain.
